Hurricanes 101 – HOW THESE AFFECT YOUR PROPERTY

The course will relate as to how management personnel should consider the maintenance and the repairs of the windows and doors installed in their property which are of key importance. Being these elements a key component of the building’s physical property.

LEARNER’S OBJECTIVES: 
The objective of this course is to provide a better understanding to the learner as to how hurricanes affect structures in southeast Florida specifically windows and doors installed in High-Rise condominiums.

To understand the theory as to how these are designed, what is the expected performance of these and how to properly look-out for deficiencies and how to address these.

  • Modality: In Person @ your desired location Lunch Included

  • Duration: The duration of the course including the session for questions and answers will be of 2 hours.

This course must have a minimum of 3 students enrolled.

COURSE PROFESSOR

Colombian born Architect, has twenty four years of experience with glass and glazing, exterior wall systems, hurricane protection and water leakage. Prior to establishing Impact Glass Services LLC, Mr. Saieh Velez was a Consultant for Glazing Consultants International for 5 years and before that he worked for RC Aluminum Industries in the U.S and Colombia, where his duties included Project Management and coordination of field quality control efforts. Mr. Saieh Velez also assisted in the development of quality control programs that assured the correct installation of glazing assemblies in multi-million dollar projects. At GCI, Mr. Saieh Velez provided construction consulting services in new and existing projects that include institutional facilities, hospitals, schools, office buildings, hotels, condominiums and private residences. Services provided include design, project management, inspections and water infiltration testing of all types of glazing assemblies and wall systems. Mr. Saieh Velez has also performed and assisted in post-hurricane damage investigations that are helping with improved hurricane resistant glazing construction throughout the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Mr. Saieh Velez is an active member of ASTM International (American Society of Testing and Materials), AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association) and a founding member of AEFAD (Universidad Autónoma del Caribe’s Miami Alumni Association). As the owner/manager of IMPACT GLASS SERVICES, Mr. Saieh Velez has applied all of his past experience to establish a firm that provides excellent professional services in repair, maintenance and installation of glazing products.

CAM LICENSES REQUIREMENTS

CAM licensees are required to complete 15 hours of state approved continuing education courses prior to the expiration of their license.
